Today on Flashpoints we will be speaking with Tony Diaz of the Original Libro-Traficante from Houston, TX. Mr. Diaz lead a caravan of writers, smuggling a van load of banned books back into Arizona. This action came after the Tuson school district dismantled Xicano and Native American studies as well as banning books of dozens of Xicano, Indigenous and socially conscious writers. Joining us today will be Dr. Naomi Quinonez from San Francisco State University’s Ethnic Studies department, who has organized an event in solidarity with Libro-Traficante in San Francisco. We will also speak with Carlos Garcia, Director of Tuson Arizon’s Puente Movement on the battlefront of Arizona’s racist Juan Crow laws. Finally, we’ll hear an interview from contributing reporter Sabrna Jacobs and California Assemblyman Tom Ammiano on the Trust Act.

We're searching for great new music produced by independent musicians and members of our global audience, so that we can be as non-corporate and copyright-free as possible. All genres -- from blues to electronica to world beats -- welcome!

We like smart, political and well-produced music -- and are especially in search of possible new theme instrumentals.
