Israel Continues
Destruction of Lebanese Infrastructure
Bilal El-Amine, former editor of
Left Turn
Magazine
The situation in Lebanon is increasingly desperate as aid supply
efforts are stopped or destroyed by Israeli invaders and a looming
humanitarian crisis hangs over southern and western Lebanon as refugees
flood into Beirut. Many fear that on Saturday after foreign nationals
have left, indiscriminate Israeli attacks on civilian infrastructure
will further intensify, and civilian deaths will soar. All while the
world tacitly supports the despicable, immoral and illegal collective
punishment.

Western media turns a blind eye to the horrific images of civilian
deaths under collective punishment in Gaza and Lebanon by Israeli
state-sponsored terrorism. When Israel kidnapped and jailed one third
of the Palestinian legislative council weeks ago, there was little
coverage. Yet when Hezbollah captured two Israeli soldiers, Israel is
permitted with US, EU and international collaboration and encouragement.
