Today on a special edition of Flashpoints, “Passing the Torture Baton,” we’ll examine the implications of general David Petraeus’s elevation to Director of Central Intelligence. We’ll speak to professor Marjorie Cohn on the continuation of the United States torture polices as a key aspect of the United States forward fighting capacity. Also we’ll be joined by Gareth Porter to talk about the new role of the CIA in expanding drone wars. We’ll also be joined by Cathy Kelly to talk about general Petraeus’s bloody relationship to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and investigative reporter Fred Branfman will talk about Petraues’s expansion in the use of Drone attacks as US commander of the war in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
